I work with couples and individuals. My work is rooted in relationships and clients come to me feeling stuck in unsustainable patterns, seeking help to break free. These patterns are a response to unmet attachment needs, typically developed as a means to survive dysfunctional family dynamics. Change can be harder to achieve when also dealing with the burden of depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, trauma and betrayal, grief, or cultural and religious expectations. Eventually, clients want to find a way to liberate themselves, but don't know what that looks like or where to begin.
As a counselor, I see clients through a systemic framework. I use a culturally responsive approach, integrating theoretical orientations such as Feminist & Family System therapies, CBT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Relational Life Therapy. In session, you can expect a warm, humorous, empathetic, non-judgmental space where you can do hard things.
I believe everyone has the capacity for change but might not possess the skills needed to achieve it. Reaching out for help is scary but you're brave enough to do it. I'm honored to help you begin this journey. I'll walk beside you as you discover ways to cope with life's stressors, redefine your relationships, accept your whole self, and be authentically you.
