I believe that therapy is about discovering, understanding, and embracing the authentic self that lives within each of us. Sometimes things happen to us in life that can make this process difficult, and it can be even more challenging to feel comfortable enough to share our life experiences with another person. I believe in creating an open, judgment-free, client-focused and driven environment in which people from all backgrounds and cultures feel safe, motivated, and ultimately free to be themselves. Establishing a meaningful connection with your therapist is vital, as the processes of self-discovery and change are collaborations between the two of us. It is my aim to become your strongest advocate and guide.
In addition to being a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor, I possess a second Master of Arts degree in Educational Psychology, and am a Michigan state certified teacher (grades 6 to 12). My professional experiences also include career counseling, educating adults in nurturing parenting techniques/methodology, and serving as an advocate witness for clients in family court. As a psychotherapist, I use an eclectic, evidence-based approach including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), existential therapy, and mindfulness to help people experiencing anxiety, depression, various forms of trauma, school and work-related issues, grief, and transition. I offer both in-person and teletherapy services.
I look forward to meeting and working with you on your path toward discovery, healing, and self-sustained change.
